You will be working in a 10 bed respite care service based in the Bingham area of Nottingham. You will be assisting the existing team with the care of adults aged 18 to 65 living with moderate to severe learning disabilities.
You will carry out the usual aspect of a care assistant role with particular attention paid to ensuring that the quality of life of the service users is maintained.
Due to the nature of the conditions that the service users live with there will be some behaviours which may challenge so previous experience of this is essential to ensure that you are handling the situation in a calm and professional manner.
As the service is a respite care service, we are looking for someone with a bubbly and outgoing personality that can develop interpersonal relationships quickly.

• Have 3 years’ experience within a similar care environment
• Be able to provide 3 years of references.
• Have a certificate for Practical Moving and Handling dated within the last 12 months
• have an enhanced DBS on the Update service
