Job Description

Immediate start for an experienced Senior Care Assistant working within Belper, Derbyshire on a flexible basis, with hours paid WEEKLY!!

We are looking for an experienced senior care assistant for a ongoing role providing cover for the existing team in a medium sized care home based in Belper.
Key Responsibilities
• Providing the highest level of personal care and attention to the service users, following care plans carefully whilst ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive.
• Ensuring adherence to all aspects of Health and Safety including COSSH, Food Hygiene and Infection control.
• Administering medication to service users, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both.
• To liaise with other care professionals relating to the care needs of the residents.
• To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, this includes resident’s behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day to day care.
• Encourage, assist and support service users to participate in leisure activities, ensuring their social and emotional needs are met. This also includes escorting residents to outside appointments and leisure outings.
• Responsible for undertaking light cleaning duties as needed and ensuring that the Home is kept clean, pleasant and welcoming at all times.

Working Hours: You will be provided with a week’s induction before working a variety of shifts as required that may include the below: 07:00 to 14:15 14:00 to 22:00 22:00 to 07:00

Experience & Qualifications

To be suitable for this position you must have:
– An Enhanced DBS Certificate that is registered on the update service
– Up to date mandatory training dated within the past 9 months
– A Practical Moving and Handling Certificate dated within the past 9 months
– Full up-to-date CV with employment history
– Previously experience working in a senior carer capacity
– A minimum of 2 years referenceable experience working as a senior Care assistant
– Be able to provide reference details for two previous care employers, including the most recent employer.
– NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care
– Be able to cover the range of shifts required
