Here at QS Care our main priority has and always been ensuring we provide the highest calibre of candidates for our clients while ensuring our workers feel supported in every step of their journey with us. We are available 365 days a year, 24 hours a day whether you need advice, information or just someone to chat to during your shift when you’re unsure of anything. We are always here to answer your questions whenever you need us, but here are some of our most frequently asked questions to help you get to know QS Care a little better.

  • What locations will I be based in when working with QS Care?

We provide temporary and permanent healthcare staffing solutions to our clients based throughout the East Midlands, West Midlands and South Yorkshire. Depending on your location we will always look at various options that work for you wherever you are based. It is of vital importance to us that our candidates know that we will always accommodate specific needs due to our wide network of care homes. We also have roles available in supported living care homes.

  • What is the structure of pay for candidates at QS Care?

Our QS Care workers are paid weekly, dependent on the receipt of a complete timesheet received the week before.

  • What is the process once I am registered with QS Care?

Once you have registered with QS Care, we will take a completely personal approach. You will be contacted directly by one of our specialist recruiters whose role is to find the shifts and care homes that are right for you. They’ll spend some time getting to know more about you before inviting you to an interview, which will either be in person or through zoom/teams etc. Our team is always on hand to help you through this whole interview process and provide information on all the documentation required. Once you have settled with us, we will be in contact regularly for general catch-ups, check-ins and to discuss any new shift opportunities.

  • I’ve never registered with an agency: What’s the process?

There are two ways to do this, you can either apply on our website for one of the current roles we have available, or you can contact us directly and we will talk you through every step of the process. If you would like to contact us directly, please click here.

  • What are the type of roles QS Care recruits for?

We recruit temporary and permanent workers for care settings. We are currently not providing candidates for Support Home Care or domiciliary care needs.

  • How long does it take for candidates to register?

This entirely depends on the documentation the individual registering has, for example, if you have a fully up to date DBS check and all the relevant training required for the role, then we will be able to progress your application quicker. Our team will guide you through the process of obtaining the documents needed and will keep you up to date with where your DBS check is in the process where a new one is needed. However, as soon as you are eligible, we will put you into a shift as soon as we possibly can.

  • What do I do with my timesheet?

QS Care will provide you with the timesheet documentation you need once you register with us. This can then be submitted via email or, depending entirely on your preferences, can be dropped into your nearest QS Care branch.

  • Do you have a uniform policy?

Uniform depends entirely on the clients’ requests and this will always be confirmed with you in plenty of time before a shift. As a general rule, if you are working specifically with dementia patients this is usually a blue tunic, though if you are working with individuals in supported care the dress code is usually more relaxed. QS Care will provide one free uniform for all of our candidates.

  • Do I have to accept all the work offered?

There is no obligation to take the shifts we provide, but QS Care will always be transparent and honest with you whilst supporting your needs. We understand that our candidates have personal commitments and these may change so we ask our candidates to keep us updated with any relevant changes in their circumstances so we can continue to find the best shifts for them.

  • Can you contact QS Care outside of general working hours?

Yes, we make it our number one priority to be available for our candidates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We have an in-house on-call system handled by our specialised recruitment consultants. We are always here to address any concerns you may have whether this be in regards to a specific shift, any interview concerns or if you simply just need a chat, we provide around the clock care for our candidates. All of our call service team are always kept up to date with all the relevant training and changes within the sector to ensure we are always providing the highest quality of care.

  • What are our rates of pay?

As with uniform policy, this is entirely dependent on the role, the shift and the setting. QS Care does not have specific set rates but we will always work closely with both our clients and candidates to ensure our candidates are paid at the best possible rates.
